Rob Chappe
Bass Guitar/Acoustic Guitar/Background vocals
Rob Chiappe grew up in Carson City, NV and joined the Air Force soon after he graduated High School.
After finishing 10 years of active duty, he did long simultaneous careers in the Washington Air National Guard and the City of Spokane, WA. After retiring from his day jobs, he moved to San Antonio to pursue his passion for music.
His early introduction, by his mother, to a wide variety of popular music influences his songwriting. Everything from Elton John to Glen Campbell, Elvis to Sly and the Family Stone were spinning on the turntable at home. Boston, The Cars and Van Halen’s debut albums along
with Fleetwood Rumours were huge inspirations.
His introduction to playing live music was in a cover band while still working in Spokane the last couple
years before moving to San Antonio. He played bass with 21BLACK soon after settling in San Antonio
playing covers and originals in local clubs as well as doing some movie soundtrack work for Brett
Mauser, a San Antonio independent film maker. Those experiences were instrumental in getting him to
write and arrange songs. The collaboration within Fallen Silent has been very special and he’s always
learning something new.
Hobbies - When he’s not on the bass or guitar, he’s playing Golf or Cycling.
Gear - He has assembled quite the collection of gear over the years but his current stage rig on the bass
side consists of his G&L SB2 and Sterling short scale Sting Ray bass, Tech21 Landmark 300 head and
TC Electronic 2x12 cabs. On the acoustic guitar side are his Taylor 412er, Martin 000-18 and Godin
Mahogany Folk guitars (the Godin is always on the stand and most of his songs are written on that
guitar) with a Tech21 Acoustic FlyRig.
